The VOICE-IF framework

People often hold the piece of information a meeting needs — and say nothing at the moment it would matter.

Speak Up is a 30-minute instrument for real meetings of two to four people. Each person privately writes and endorses an if–then plan before the meeting. During the meeting, a private cue appears only when the situation they planned for actually occurs.

What it does

Turns an intention into a specific plan — if this situation, then this sentence — and then quietly tells you when that situation has arrived.

What it refuses to do

It never scores personality, emotion or competence, never pushes equal airtime, and never treats silence as a deficit. Choosing not to speak is a recorded, valid choice.

How it is studied

Four arms: goal only, a standard plan, an AI-personalised plan you edit and endorse, and that plan plus rehearsal. The main comparison is personalised versus standard.

Speak Up / VOICE-IF is an independent research prototype grounded in published work on implementation intentions and group decision processes. It is designed to test whether AI-assisted recognition of critical situations helps people execute self-endorsed plans. No endorsement by any researcher or institution is claimed, and no effect of this system has been scientifically validated. Staying silent is never treated as a failure.
